FAA Part 107 Certified
4K Aerial Imaging
24hr Response
Conyers, GA & Atlanta Metro
Licensing & Safety
Yes. Atkinson Aerial is operated by an FAA Part 107 certified Remote Pilot, which is required by federal law for all commercial drone operations in the United States. This certification covers airspace rules, weight limits, operational requirements, and safety protocols — ensuring every flight is fully legal and compliant.
Yes. We carry commercial drone liability insurance. A certificate of insurance and our FAA Part 107 credentials are available upon request — for property managers, general contractors, event venues, or any client who requires documentation before a shoot.
We fly the DJI Phantom 4 Pro — a professional-grade aerial platform with a 1-inch CMOS sensor, 20MP still photography, 4K/60fps video, mechanical shutter to eliminate rolling shutter artifacts, and a 3-axis gimbal for cinema-quality stabilization in virtually all conditions.
FAA Part 107 certification is required by federal law for any commercial drone operation in the United States — no exceptions. Hiring an unlicensed operator isn't just risky, it exposes you to legal and financial liability as the client. Here's what certification actually means in practice:
  • Legal compliance — every flight is conducted under federal aviation law, fully documented and authorized.
  • Insurance coverage — commercial liability insurance is carried and available for verification before any shoot.
  • Airspace knowledge — controlled airspace, restricted zones, and temporary flight restrictions are checked and managed for every location.
  • Waiver capability — certain shoots (over crowds, near airports, at night) require FAA waivers or authorizations that only a Part 107 pilot can legally obtain and operate under.
  • Safety protocols — preflight checklists, weather assessment, and emergency procedures are standard practice, not afterthoughts.
Bottom line: your project, your property, and your liability are protected when you work with a certified pilot.
Services
Atkinson Aerial offers commercial drone photography, drone videography, aerial property and rooftop inspections, graphic design, and web design services. We work with real estate agents, insurance adjusters, contractors, developers, event organizers, and businesses throughout Conyers, Conyers, and the greater Atlanta metro.
Absolutely — real estate aerial photography is one of our most-requested services. We deliver MLS-ready still images and listing video tours optimized for Zillow, Realtor.com, and social media. Listings with aerial photography consistently attract more views and sell faster than those without.
Yes. We provide drone-based aerial inspections for residential and commercial rooftops, structures, and properties. Our inspections produce detailed, high-resolution imagery documenting condition, storm damage, and maintenance needs — safely and efficiently, with no ladders or scaffolding required.
We're based in Conyers, Georgia and primarily serve Newton County, Rockdale County, and the greater Atlanta metro — including Conyers, Social Circle, Madison, Mansfield, McDonough, Loganville, and surrounding communities. We're open to travel for larger commercial projects; contact us to discuss your location.
Booking & Process
Use the contact form at atkinsonaerial.com to request a quote or schedule a session. We typically respond within 24 hours. Please include your location, project type, and any deadline so we can provide accurate pricing and availability right away.
Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions — including high winds, rain, heavy overcast, or low visibility — make safe flight inadvisable, we reschedule at no penalty to you. We monitor forecasts closely and will reach out proactively whenever a weather delay looks likely.
For commercial projects, we coordinate with property owners or project contacts in advance to confirm access and permissions before any flight. This is standard professional practice — and we handle it as part of our workflow so you don't have to.
Deliverables
Standard delivery is 48–72 hours after the shoot. Rush turnaround (24 hours) is available for an additional fee. All deliverables arrive via a private download link. Raw, unedited files are not included in standard packages but can be arranged — just mention it when booking.
Photos are delivered as high-resolution JPEGs (DNG RAW available on request). Video is MP4 (H.264 or H.265) at up to 4K resolution. Need a specific format for MLS upload, insurance documentation, or a client presentation? Just let us know — we accommodate format requirements.
Airspace & Locations
In many cases, yes. As a Part 107 certified pilot, we're authorized to request airspace authorizations through the FAA's LAANC system for controlled airspace near airports. We evaluate every shoot location in advance and handle all necessary authorizations — so if it's legally flyable, we'll make it happen safely.
Certain areas are restricted by the FAA regardless of certification — including active military airspace, national parks (without a special use permit), and active temporary flight restriction zones. We check airspace classification for every project location in advance and will advise you if any restrictions apply.
Yes — in most cases. Under FAA Part 107 §107.39, sustained drone flight over open-air assemblies requires specific compliance based on the aircraft's weight category. Our DJI Phantom 4 Pro weighs approximately 1,388 grams — well above the 250-gram threshold for waiver-free over-people flight — which means an FAA Operations Over People (OOP) waiver is required for coverage of events like festivals, concerts, sporting events, and similar gatherings where the drone will fly sustained paths above attendees.

What this means for your booking:
  • We handle the waiver process — filing, documentation, and FAA communication are all managed on your behalf.
  • Book at least 90 days out — the FAA recommends a 90-day lead time for OOP waiver applications, and processing times vary.
  • Perimeter shots don't require a waiver — if your event footage can be captured from the edges of the crowd rather than directly overhead, we may be able to proceed under standard Part 107 rules.
Not sure what your event requires? Reach out early and we'll assess your shoot together.
